What language did our ancestors speak? How did they write? The complex and compelling path of the history of writing leads to the Lepontii people, who first introduced writing to our regions between the end of the second millennium B.C.E. and the first century C.E., and to the Romans, who later spread a new language and a new alphabet: Latin. The topic is introduced though images and teaching aids.
In the hands-on activity, participants use Lepontii and Roman iconographic motifs and write using the North Etruscan alphabet and Roman square capitals.
The experience ends with a short, themed guided tour of the Archaeology Montebello exhibition

The workshop is part of the educational programme offered by the Ticino Archaeological Association (ATT)
