The medieval reenactment “La Spada nella Rocca” returns October 3–4!
Schedule for Saturday, October 3:
11:00 am – Parade at the Bellinzona Market with the imperial court
1:00 pm – Medieval combat tournament
Schedule for Sunday, October 4, as part of Swiss Castles Day:
Castle lawn:
11:00 am – Suedalp combat
11:30 am – Andrea’s juggling act
11:45 am – Italian gentlemanly swordfighting demonstration with the Rocca swordsmen
1:00 pm – Medieval dance demonstration with Maia Danze
1:30 pm – Suedalp sword fights
2:00 pm – Parade and presentation of the groups, followed by the official ceremony
2:15 pm – Multi-era reenactment featuring historical figures from the Fortress
2:45 pm – Medieval joust and circus-style horse show
3:15 pm – Fire-eating performance by Roberto
4:30 pm – Sword show featuring the Rocca swordsmen, accompanied by musicians
5:00 pm – Parade of groups; conclusion of the day
Inside the Castle:
1:30–2:30 pm – Storytelling by Madame Violante and Mariangela Martino
2:30–3:30 pm – Magic, theater, and juggling show with Auriga Teatro
Continuous entertainment inside the castle, including archery, camp life and crafts, children’s activities, music, fortune-tellers, merchants, and medieval stalls.
To reach the castle on Sunday, October 4, a free shuttle service will be available from Largo Elvezia to Montebello Castle, running from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm.
